What is Miss Universe?
Miss Universe is an annual international beauty contest run by the Miss Universe Organization. The pageant is the most publicized beauty contest in the world. The contest was founded in 1952 by California clothing company Pacific Mills. The pageant became part of Kayser-Roth and then Gulf and Western Industries, before being acquired by Donald Trump in 1996. In 1998, Miss Universe changed its name from Miss Universe, Inc. to Miss Universe Organization and the headquarters moved from Los Angeles, California, to New York City that year. Donald Trump brought in a new team of professionals to the contest headed by its new CEO, Molly Miles, and president Maureen Reidy. The contest would use the slogan "Redefined for Today" for promotion of the pageants. The current Miss Universe is Leila Lopes, from Angola. She won the title on September 12, 2011.

Leila Lopes, 25, of Angola was crowned Miss Universe, beating 88 competitors. In a field dominated by dark floor stomachs, contestants long legs, sweet smile and hairstyle Lopes (in a bun, not long curls cascading) distinguish it from the beginning. She is also one of the few black women every time I hit the crown, the AP reports, and is the first winner of Angola.
Speaking in a timid voice after the contest last night in Sao Paolo, Brazil, Lopes said his smile was his best weapon. She also told reporters that she has never had cosmetic surgery and his three beauty tips went to get a lot of sleep, use sunscreen even when there is no sun and drinking plenty of water.
When asked about racism, Lopes said that "any racist has to seek help. It is not normal in the 21st century to think that way."
Lopes also said that "as Miss Angola have already done much to help my people." I have worked with several social causes. I work with poor children, I work in the fight against HIV. I work to protect the elderly and I have to do whatever my country needs, "he said." I think now as Miss Universe, I will be able to do more. "
Your question of the interview was not particularly difficult. Asked what physical trait that would change if I could. "Thank God I'm very pleased with the way God created me and would not change anything," said Lopes. "I am a woman with inner beauty. I have acquired many of the wonderful principles of my family and I have the intention to continue these for the rest of my life."
The first finalist was Olesia Stefanko of Ukraine and the second runner up was Priscilla Machado Brazil. Miss Philippines took third place and Miss China, the fourth.
Unfortunately, USAhe did very well in the competition last night, presented by Bravo honcho Andy Cohen and Natalie Morales Today program. Miss USA Alyssa Campanella did not in the Top Ten. The most recent winner was in 1997.
